Collective Agreement

The Collective Agreement sets out our rights and responsibilities on the job, including pay & benefits, hours of work, the grievance process and other HR-related matters. If you have any concerns or questions, please refer to the Agreement and/or contact a member of the Executive.

On July 13, 2021, Local 402-01 members voted in favour of accepting the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) that provided a 2% wage-and-term deal for 2020 and 2021. On July 26, 2021, Mayor and Council for the City of White Rock also ratified the MoA, so now our Collective Agreement will be updated and signed by both the Union and the City. The contract will be current to December 31, 2021, and retroactive pay for members will follow. In late 2021, union elections will be held to form the Local 402-01 Bargaining Committee whose members will then begin the process of full negotiations with the City for a new Collective Agreement for the upcoming years (January 1, 2022 and onwards).

A PIECE OF HISTORY FROM 1958 FOR LOCAL 402-01 COLLECTIVE BARGAINING: Our original certification from the BC Government’s Labour Relations Board that recognized White Rock City Workers as a “trade union for the purposes of collective bargaining”.
